A beloved SJS tradition since the 1980s, May Day brings our school community together to celebrate the end of the school year. Through dancing, activities, and shared experiences, we honor the friendship, teamwork, and community spirit that make SJS so special.

Exploring Bulls Island
Exploring Bulls Island

During a field trip to Bulls Island, SJS scholars investigated the island's diverse coastal habitats and learned to identify a variety of seashells. Located just a stone's throw from our school, Bulls Island provides an incredible outdoor classroom where scholars can connect with the natural beauty of the Lowcountry.

Exploring the Wild Side of SJS

Learning was in full bloom as SJS scholars took a nature walk with guest scientist Jane Settle! Scholars explored our campus forest trail while discovering local plants, wildlife, and animal homes hidden throughout our school grounds. It's amazing what we can learn when we step outside and explore our own backyard.

SJS is great because of the teachers!  They help me to learn all subjects, but math is my favorite.  I like solving hard problems and working with my friends. Zalasia Denmark, Grade 2

At SJS, both the students and staff support their peers in the common goal of growth for all students; it really feels like a team.
